LYONS CORNER HOUSE "NIPPY" WAITRESS

Time to share a special commission...

Vicky is dressed in the style of a 1920s Lyons Tea Room "nippy" waitress. The starbucks of its day, the Lyons Corner House first appeared in 1909 and remained until 1977. The tea rooms were noted for their art deco style and "nippy" waitresses, so named due to the speed at which they nipped between the tables when serving.

As you can see I've had great fun making the "nippy!" She is now in a private collection and has not been added to my website catalogue yet. If you are interested in her or something similar please email me.
